Worst of all, not all furniture stores carry the ideal sofa you are looking for. You could end up spending months fruitlessly searching before settling for something less than ideal.

At etch&bolts, you can build your ideal sofa with the help of adjustable dimensions, different seating comforts, and over 300 different swatches to choose from.


Step 1: Choose Your Design

First thing you need to do is decide on a design that you like. There are many factors that can go into picking your favorite design: armrests, backrests, framing, legs, etc. Think through what is most important for you in a sofa and pick a design that best suits you!


Step 2: Choose Your Dimensions

Now that you have in mind a design, the next thing to do is to choose the dimensions you want! Go ahead and measure out the dimensions of your home to see the size of sofa would best suit your interior.

A little something to take note of: if your sofa is longer than 200cm in length AND you do not stay on the ground floor, make sure to measure out the size of your lift entrance. Some lifts only have a limit of 200cm and it is important to make sure the sofa can fit! (For those of you who stay on the ground floor, this does not apply for you so no worries! J)


Step 3: Choose Your Upholstery

Here comes the fun part! Our sofas can be upholstered in either a comfy fabric, luxurious velvet, or in genuine Italian leather. Here at our showroom, we carry a wide range of texture and color options (over 300 swatches!!) for you to mull over. Every piece has its own unique charm, so take your time, our sales team will always be ready to help if you are feeling overwhelmed!

Step 4: Choose Your Seating Comfort

This is arguably the most important part of picking a sofa. Here at etch&bolts, we offer 4 different seating comforts: Soft, Standard, Firm, and Premium.

Soft: 40kg/cbm High Density Foam
Standard: 42kg/cbm High Density Foam + Down & Feathers
Firm: 45kg/cbm High Density Foam
Premium: 42kg/cbm High Resilient Foam + Latex + Down & Feathers

When it comes to seating comfort, everyone’s preference is different. So, the best advice we can give you is to make a trip down to our showroom and test out the seats for yourself!


Step 5: Choose Your Legs

The final step. This step is actually relatively optional, as most customers tend to go with the default legs that come with their design of choice. However, if you want to add a bit of a personal touch and show off some creative flair, we can craft the legs in wood or steel, and in a variety of colors as well.
